Ladder Golf Game
- DifficultyMedium
Create the popular ladder golf game yourself this summer with a few inexpensive materials and a couple of Dremel tools. You can even customize to make the set your favorite team colors!
Step 1
To get started you'll need to cut a total of 15 pieces of PVC. Measure and mark 5 lengths at 32" and 10 lengths at 17". Secure your 1" PVC in a vice or hold it firmly against a lip on your workspace. Using your Dremel Saw-Max, fit with a SM500 wheel, cut along your marked line. The Saw-Max tool has a depth of cut at 3/4" so you may need to rotate the PVC slightly towards you as you complete each cut.
Step 2
With your pipes cut, it is time to drill the holes for your rope to feed through for each bolo. Secure each ball in a Multi-Vice. Mount the NEW 4200 tool equipped with the 1/4" Brad Point bit into the Dremel WorkStation. Using the WorkStation as a drill press will help you achieve a straight hole in each of the 12 golf balls. You can set your 4200 tool to high-speed for this application.
Step 3
Next, spray paint your golf balls and PVC in your desired colors and allow to dry completely. There will be two sets of three bolos so we recommend painting 6 golf balls in one color and 6 golf balls in another color to differentiate between teams.
Step 4
To create your bolos, start by cutting 6 pieces of rope at a length of 21". Knot one end of the rope first, string one ball onto the rope and secure it at the end of the rope with another knot. Leave about 13" of space and add the second golf ball at the other end. Secure each knot with a dab of hot glue.
To reduce the risk of injury user must read instruction manuals for all tools used in this project. Wear eye and respiratory protection. Use clamps to support work piece whenever practical.
