Step 1

Cutting wood with Dremel Saw Max

You need:

Cut all of your wood to size using your Dremel Saw Max.

Drill pocket holes

You need:

Drill pockets holes using Kreg into top stringers and attach to bottom stringers using pocket screws.

Use side screws to attach wood pieces together

You need:

Attach the closed riser to the bottom front of the stringers countersinking the side screws.

Attach back brace

You need:

Attach the back brace to the stingers.

Scew in more blocks of wood

You need:

Attach the second closed riser to the stringers, measuring 1" down and 3/8" in from front. While this riser was built using a piece of 1 x 10 trimmed to 1 x 7 to have it sit below the bottom step, an alternative would be to use a 1 x 6 to have it sit flush with the step.

Sand, prime, and paint for finished product

You need:

Attach steps. Congratulations! Your steps are officially done! You're now ready to fill your holes with wood putty, sand, prime and paint.
